This is Mayu reporting, the Japanese ambassador for this year’s Future Broncho Ambassadors. For this semester’s blog. I want to introduce a place where you can work out and eat healthy food in the United States. It is crucial to maintain your body healthily in a different environment. Coming from a foreign country takes much work to get used to. Through my experiences studying in America, I have found some places to help you.

First, you can always visit the UCO wellness center. UCO built a Wellness Center for its students, faculty, staff, and community. The Wellness Center was created in March 2003 with four staff members. More than 50 staff and students are employed in the UCO Department of Wellness and Sport. The facility includes office space, classrooms, locker rooms, a group fitness room, a fitness area with a track, and a gymnasium with two full-size basketball courts. Remember to bring a valid student ID when you come to visit! Several staff members help you teach some exercises and training if you have questions.

I like this place because there is a lot of equipment, such as workout machines, in the wellness center. Also, you may borrow a studio to dance, stretch, and perform personal exercises. There are also several classes in room 134 that you can take for free as group fitness, such as yoga, Zumba, barre, spin, kickboxing, martial arts, and so much more.

Hours:
Monday-Thursday 6:00 a.m.-Midnight
Friday 6:00 am-8:00 pm.
Saturday 8:00 am-6:00 pm.
Sunday 1:00 pm-8:00 pm.

Second, I will show you some places to eat and drink healthy food. Central Station and students in the nutrition program invite you all to join them to eat in, pick up, or deliver on Tuesdays and Thursdays this semester. They are serving lunch and drinks from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. Central Station is located at the north end Human Environmental Studies Building, room 110, just west of Broncho Lake. For a one-time $8 deposit, you can participate for the entire semester. The other one that I recommend is Edmond Nutrition. It is a new smoothie and juice bar spot in the Edmond, Oklahoma, area. They have meal replacement smoothies and thermogenic herbal energy teas. The location is 339 S Black Welder Ave Edmond, OK 73034, and it opens Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm!
