International Students! Are you ready for your journey to the USA 🇺🇸?


Hello everyone!

I am Sandhra, an MBA (Master of Business Administration) student at UCO (University of Central Oklahoma). I come from the state called “the God’s Own Country,” Kerala in India. I went to the United States on February 1st, 2021, amidst the pandemic. My journey was not as easy and usual as it was before Covid-19. But proper planning and preparing myself for the trip helped me sit for a 24-hour flight without any chaos.

So, I am here to share my pre-departure checklist and explain how I prepared to pack up to move to another country for my studies. The primary thing to always have is your documents and I.D.s such as passport, I-20, etc.

Get Involved!

Hello everyone! My name is Trung (Victor) Vu, and I’m a Vietnamese 🇻🇳 student at the University of Central Oklahoma. I major in Marketing with a minor in Interpersonal Communication. When I first arrived on campus, I was excited yet nerve-wracking to make new friends and discover more about myself and my home away from home.

I’d seen many American college movies: Wild parties, Beer pong, and red Solo cups. On the contrary, the overall college experience I was after was getting that degree and investing my time in academics. I understood the price tag of my education and had no intention of wasting the experience.

Road trip to other States: Why is Oklahoma an ideal destination to start your road trips?

Hello, Apa Khabar, 你好. My name is Wei Nah Long. I’m a senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Dance. Since I’m originally from Malaysia 🇲🇾, I can speak 4 different languages (Malay, English, Mandarin, and Cantonese), and currently learning the fifth (Korean)!

So there are many reasons why Oklahoma is a great place to stay in. One of those reasons is that Oklahoma is an ideal destination for you to start your road trips. Do you know Oklahoma is known as the land of ultimate road trips? And I am going to tell you why.
