Hey guys, it is your FBA from the mountains, Prash, again, and welcome to one of my other spontaneous writings at an ungodly hour. This time I will share some of the coziest study spots on campus. Studying at different locations has been proven to make studying more exciting and effective due to the correlation between a newer environment and a fresh mindset. This is one of the methods to keep you enthusiastic about learning and preventing a hectic study schedule. Another trick is keeping your study area in the room or wherever you study tidy. Clumsiness may come as a distraction and create a potentially anxious study environment.
I have never advocated for studying hard and never will be; I would rather say, “Study smart.” Make learning effective and make it fun. It is always best to integrate fun activities into your daily school life. As the French say, ‘C’est la vie’! Do not forget that you have a life to live. Integrate the things you study in your life. Let knowledge make sense for you so that further exploring will too. Okay, that is enough of me being a grandma. Let us get to what I need to talk about here.
I am a huge fan of the sun, so whenever the sun is out, I am also out. You can find me sitting outside on a bench, on the grass (my attempt at grounding), or at coffee shops. Study time primarily consists of doing assignments and projects and reviewing class materials. Keeping up to date with your class materials prevents you from the burden of time constraints during dead weeks. The library would be the most popular study spot on campus, where you can see students pulling all-nighters. The library is a great spot to meet classmates and groups to collaborate on assignments and learn from each other.
In addition, every college at UCO has areas designated for students to self-study and collaborate in small groups. I am grateful to be at the College of Business, where we also have a computer lab with free access to printing (recommended to use sustainably) and small rooms for collaboration. All indoor study spaces have access to drinking water, bathrooms, snack bars, and online resources. I also love the South Wing of the Liberal Arts building, which is very spacious and modern. A considerable part of the walls is transparent, so you can see the outside buildings as well as the greenery of the campus, which makes you feel instantly better. Numerous cafes have study spaces and free Wi-Fi for students while you can enjoy excellent coffee, smoothies, and a pain au-chocolate if you are a cafe lover like me. During busy weeks of school, I feel too constrained inside the campus. Walking around Edmond downtown and exploring our local community here is mentally refreshing. That is it, folks. Make the best out of it with your time here: advice from a graduating senior. Chao!
