Jaime Burns, Ph.D.Jaime Burns, Ph.D. has accepted the position of interim director for the University of Central Oklahoma School of Criminal Justice. The previous director, Elizabeth Maier, Ph.D., accepted the position of interim Dean for the UCO College of Liberal Arts.

Burns is a professor in the School of Criminal Justice. Throughout her tenure at UCO, she has served on various committees including Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, Faculty Handbook Committee, Faculty Grievance Committee and many others. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University (1999) where she majored in History and Sociology. She received her master’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 2002 and her Ph.D. from OSU in 2006.

She enjoys teaching a variety of classes related to corrections, victimology and mental health in criminal justice.
