UCO Addiction Counseling Program Earns Top 50 Recognition

As the University of Central Oklahoma’s Addiction Counseling Program at UCO is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2021, the graduate program has been recognized as one of the top 50 master’s counseling programs in the nation by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
“To be recognized is terrific,” said J. Keith Killian, D.O., director of the UCO addictions counseling program. “This was not ranked by our peer programs, but by all universities that have addictions counseling programs.”
“We were the only one from our region to rank. I believe having the undergraduate SAS program was helpful in breaking through to where we are,” Dr. Killian said. “This was compiled by Counselor Magazine. It is a top publication that is recognized by all counseling fields.”
