UCO Political Science Student Organization Receives Best Chapter Award

The UCO Department of Political Science student organization, Pi Sigma Alpha, received national recognition as the 2019-2020 National Best Chapter Award out of the 800 other national chapters. Pi Sigma Alpha is the only political science honor society.
Dr. Jan Hardt, the group’s advisor shared, “We host the voter registration event every year, host speakers such as US Representative Kendra Horn, have held debate-watch parties, and hosted debates in the past. We also have held student-faculty mixer events and sponsored the Political Science Graduation Student Initiation Event in August 2019. Moreover, we annually participate in 3-4 panels at Symposium on interesting “hot” topics such as global warming, legalizing medical marijuana, and Trump’s foreign policy.”
