Direct Appointments Policy
Employee Relations conducts a review of current UCO policies and updates as necessary in partnership with those who manage the policy. In July, the following policy changes have been made:
The Direct Appointments policy was revised for the following reasons:
- Direct Appointment of outside individuals continues to increase year over year.
- UCO HR has asked similar questions within the promotion PAF for roughly 1 year. These changes bring alignment and equity to expectations.
- To ensure that such direct appointments do not disproportionately favor or hinder a group and in order to ensure that certain areas do not disproportionately leverage this pathway, it is important to leave the review of the justification for outside individuals to someone who has significant authority to decline such a request.
